Okay, so it's not so bad

I know I've mentioned before about how, despite my 10 plus years living in the South, I still consider myself to be a Northerner at heart.

But, I have to say, there's something really special about walking into your backyard and finding this:

You won't find these beauties in the North, and there's nothing quite like sitting on the back deck and smelling the spicy, sweet scent of the magnolia as it drifts on the breeze.

So, I'm thinking living in the South isn't all that bad.

p.s. please remind me of these sentiments when I am complaining about the broiling heat and sopping humidity that will arrive in approximately 48 hours. ;-)

I'm a northern girl at heart, too -- and now live in Nebraska...where we also have magnolia. They bloom in late March/early April, and the scent is intoxicating!

I'm a northern girl too just moved to the south! I must say I love it here. You can't beat the weather and all those flowering trees. Breath taking!

Just today I drove down a highway in our town lined with magnolias and thought about what a southern thing they are. I was wishing I had my camera with me to snap a shot of over 30 trees blooming with those beautiful white blossoms. Broiling heat and sopping humidity have arrived where I live! Glad to have you in the South.
